Meet Dr. Scott

Dr. Blake scott Dr. Blake Scott was born and raised in Diamond Bar, California.  He graduated from University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Planning.  After interning in the mayor’s office Dr. Scott, decided he wanted to be a dentist.  In order to prepare for his dental career, he studied graduate level Biotechnology, worked as a research assistant on neurotransmitters, and founded the pre-dental society at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.  In addition to academic pursuits, Dr. Scott learned other aspects of dentistry by acting as a dental assistant and lab technician for his father’s dental practice in Anaheim, CA.

He was accepted to the only three-year dental program in the country at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where he met his wife, Dr. Lindsey Scott.  He was awarded the United States Navy’s Health Promotions Scholarship and established the school’s pre-dental clinical program, educating future dentists about dental schools and the dental program at UOP.  Dr. Scott completed a VA rotation in complete dentures at Stanford University.

After dental school, Dr. Scott attended a one-year comprehensive dental residency program.  He was voted Best Comprehensive Dentist by the program’s six dental specialist mentors and completed National Naval Medical Center rotations in Pediatric Dentistry, Fixed Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, and Orthodontics.  Dr. Scott also completed a year-long residency in Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and training in anesthesiology techniques and Intravenous Sedation at Albert Einstein Medical School in New York.

He spent four and a half years stationed with the Marines at Camp Pendleton and served in Iraq.  While in Iraq, he was Clinic Director and base emergency oral medicine chief, trained in advanced trauma life support and pre-hospital trauma life support.

Dr. Scott is the youngest and only dentist in Fresno who holds all three of the following fellowships: Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and Fellowship in the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.

Dr. Scott is active in organized dentistry and enjoys learning the latest techniques and research in dentistry.  He currently holds appointment to the Fresno / Madera Dental Society’s Ethics Committee and serves as a Peer Reviewer for research articles for the dental profession’s clinical journals.  He maintains membership in the following dental organizations: American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Society for Dental Anesthesiology, American Association for Implant Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantology, International Association for Dental Research, International Association for Breath Odor Research, American Association for Dental Sleep Medicine, College of Physicians and Surgeons Alumni Organization, Academy of General Dentistry, Fresno / Madera Dental Society, California Dental Association, and American Dental Association.  Dr. Scott belongs to the following study clubs and continuing education organizations: International Team of Implantologists, Faculty Club for Spear Education / Scottsdale Center for Dental Education, Seattle Study Club, and California Mastertrack Education for Academy of General Dentistry.

Since moving to Fresno, Dr. Scott enjoys Fresno Grizzlies baseball games, mountain climbing, hiking, music class with his daughter and traveling with his family.
